Face Masks Made in the USA

As the economy begins to reopen we are all being asked to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. There are several things we need to do – avoid large gatherings, wash your hands often, stay 6 feet apart, and wear face masks when we are out in public. Our face masks, which are made in the USA, help with this last item.

There are some questions as to why we are being asked to wear face masks. One reason is that someone may have the virus and not yet have any symptoms. They don’t know they have it. If they were to go out in public without a face covering, and cough or sneeze, the droplets carrying the virus could come into contact with another person, thus spreading the virus. But if that infected person wore a face masks, those droplets would get trapped, and wouldn’t spread.

Another question is what type of face mask should you wear. The CDC recommends cloth face coverings. Our face masks are made from two plys of 100% organic cotton fabric (except the black which are made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex). They have soft, self-binding ear loops.

You should wash your face masks regularly. We recommend machine washing them in warm water and with other items of similar colors. You can tumble dry them on medium heat. Since you’re going to be washing them often, you will want to have several on hand so you’ll always have a clean one to wear.

According to the CDC, there are some people who should not wear face masks. Children under age 2 should not wear face masks. Neither should anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

If we all work together and observe these simple things, we can help stop the spread. Here is a link to the CDC web site for more information. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
